Infosys Training @ Mysore

Finally d day arrived when I was at Mysore, for joining INFOSYS. It was 11th July 2010. From the bus stop I along with my friend took an auto to the Infosys Campus, almost 10 Kms away from the city. Infosys is a very well known place at Mysore. Even you have the bus stop named INFOSYS CBS.

Just arrived outside the campus and i could see this huge campus spread across approximately 450 acres ( Am not very sure of the figures but it is definitely greater than 300 acres). Finally after all verfication process got my room keys and we had a cab to drop us at our respective hostels. When the cab started off , it almost covered 50 % of Infy's campus, n we were astonished at the amazing architecture and natural beauty of the campus. I basically belong to the Indore region , so havent seen this greenery before. Finally arrived at the hostel , simply shocked at the beauty of the hostel , just thought how would the room be ?. Came near to my room B 93-480. Plugged in the key and when the door opened , for a moment i was out of control , I mean how on earth am i worthy to stay in a room like that. A room with Samsung LED TV , An AC , n superb furniture work , just marvellous and the view of other hostel from the big glass pane , it was worth living that moment, called up home and said M in Heaven.


Next day started the process of induction for a week, for all the formalities and other processes. After the first week we had ILI(Infosys Leadership Institute )Sessions , those were pretty chilled and I personally enjoyed it a lot.Then started the first day of our class with C programming, since I was from a computer background , for Non Computers the first few classes are very easy , giving them a basic knowledge on Computers and Softwares. A nice looking faculty , awesome class , we were already allocated our desks. The main happiness being getting into GEC , which is just a marvellous architecture, built of the form of St.Peters square at Vatican City.So the process of learning has already started which they call as Generic Training , they made me study all the core subjects I read in my Computer Engg and yes I must say i scored well in all of them. I am proud to say that I was a "FIVE POINTER" all through the generic training.

After we were done with generic training, we had ILI sessions again , intended to give a break after the studies. So again enjoyed those sessions and then at the last day got allocated to .NET stream training( There are 3 streams for CS guys : .NET, JAVA, Mainframes. Mainframes known to be toughest of them.But surprisingly .NET was all d more tougher for our batch, coz they had just revised the course of .NET) . The very next day started off with .NET, a completely new stuff, never read before , so automatically started the process of screwing. This my friends is the second phase of studies which is just rougher and tougher than the previous one of generic phase. Anyhow studied hard to cope up with the syllabus and then for the first few modules remained "FIVE POINTER", but den came the last three modules , the BAAP of all, n it was den that my FIVE POINTER was broken. Anyhow cleared d final exam with good marks.

This was all about studies , now for the fun part. Friends believe me , the entire time you will spend at Infosys Mysore is gonna b d most memorable days of your life. Those awesome facilities and atmosphere, you cant expect to get before you turn to 30's and that too you have to earn them on your own. The compensation that you get during the training days is sufficient to manage rest of your expenses as according to me, although you will never feel satisfied by the salary figure, that's for sure. The only 1 thing that made me proud was from that salary I was able to purchase some expensive gifts for my family , when i went to home during the training.

So It was a lifetime experience being there at Mysore, few heritage places I got to visit and I also came across what is called to be 'Natural Beauty'. After the training I got my allocations and my Unithttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif in Infosys and within a week we all had to leave the Fab Infosys Campus. I still miss my Infy dayzz.... :)
